I am a new member and am looking for recommendations for a reputable person/company to rebuild my 1965 327/365 engine. I am located in South Carolina and can ship it any where east of the Mississippi. Thanks for your help!

Re: Machine Shop Recommendations
If you are anywhere near West Columbia, look up a fellow named Mike Harrison, usually doing business as M&H Engineering. He's a sharp individual and a really good builder. He would be wired into competent shops in his area. If you have trouble tracking him down, let me know and I'll help.

Re: Machine Shop Recommendations
I have used Garry Grimes, Twister Engines, Alpharetta, GA (north of Atlanta just off 400) for two engines, one modified and one resto. Gary has a very good machine shop and a competent staff. Garry has had a number of Corvettes, BB Camaros (incl. COPOs), '57 Chevy FI, etc., done CanAm resto engines and R&D for Chev. (including Zora), a couple cam manufacturers and for Headman Hedders. If you are doing an engine he also has a couple of dynos. Google Garry Grimes & Twister Engines
Best of Luck!

Re: Machine Shop Recommendations
About 1 year ago the NCRS Mid-Atlantic Chapter held a tech session at an engine rebuilder just south of Richmond, Virginia. I was very impressed with them. I forget their name though. I'm sure you could find it on their website, or by asking around. One thing that they offered was that they dyno'd the engine after they rebuilt it. Nice thing about that is that you (they) get to break it in and fix leaks before the engine is re-installed in the car.- Top
