    1963 Coupe #4 Body Mount

Would anyone know what are the correct rubber mounts for the #4 body mount at the top of the frame kick up near the gas tank.
I believe 1963 is different from 1964-67, but this is my first experience with the 1963. Is a round rubber cushion used on top and below the frame mount for 1963? Any help or information is greatly appreciated.
The body went back on the frame this afternoon, now for the final adjustments.

Craig, Yes the 64-67 use the round hard rubber puck body mounts. The 63 does not.

I can't seem to find a diagram with any detail in the assembly manual. What is the mount sequence and what cushion is used.

Craig, there are none on a 63.

Rubber pucks were not used in 63. Just a stack up of metal shims at all body mount locations.

On '63s there are 3832359 rubber cushions used on the "inboard mounts", which are technically not a body mounts, but anchors for the inboard seat belt mounts.

            I don't think these cushions were ever available through P & A.

As stated, on '63s none of the body mounts along the frame rails use cushions. See Sect. 1 Sheets G1.00 and G2.00 of the AIM.

              Craig,

There are two rectangular shims used on the fourth frame crossmember to keep the floor from rattling, they are approx 3" long and 1 1/2" wide.

Other than that and the inboard seat mounts that use round rubber spacers the 63 mounts solid..

                Duke,

Do you or anyone have an idea where I can find just the cushions # 3832539 for the inboard mounts?

                Thanks

The 3832539 cushions (Gr. 14.875) were removed from service in March 1970. Good luck finding a NOS pair.

Sorry, I don't know of any current sources for that part.

Here are some pictures of the center body mount on a 1963 Coupe.
This is the mount I failed to find any aftermarket replacement for.
I had to reinstall the originals for this reason.
These two mounts are the only body mounts on the 63 that have a rubber inserts.

As I said previously, they are not technically "body mounts", but part of the reinforcement design for the inboard seat belt mounts. Interestingly, the outboard '63 seat belt mounts have no reinforcement to the frame at all. The belt was simply bolted to the gusset plate that is riveted to the fiberglass floor pan... makes one wonder why they designed an inboard reinforcement to the frame, but not on the outside.

Back in that era cars were not crash tested against solid barriers at 30 MPH. I recall that NHTSA requirement went into effect for the '68 model year. Prior to that it was basically engineering intuition as to how to secure the seat belt mounts to protect the occupants in a severe collision accident, but you don't need to be an engineer to realize that the lack of an outboard seat belt reinforcement to the frame was a design deficiency.

Later in C2 production, '64 as I recall, the '63 inboard seat belt reinforcement design was replaced by cable restraints to the frame on both inboard and outboard sides.
