    ZDDP oil additive

Eastwood just came out with this.
Is this the first time anyone has produced a similar product?
I was hoping our oil experts could comment and give some direction.

    Re: ZDDP oil additive

All you need is the "diesel" oil (CJ-4 designation) that is referred to in previous posts. The ZDDP is "snake oil" as far as being a needed additive. Search previous posts for comments. Shell Rotella is one of the more popular brands mentioned.

        Re: ZDDP oil additive

This ad begins with the following statement:

"After 70+ years, the EPA mandated that all oil domestic producers remove ZDDP (Zinc Dialkyl Dithio Phosphate) from all conventional and synthetic motor oils."

The above statement is a flat out LIE!!!

If anyone could get the FTC to investigate these guys, I have no doubt they would get a "cease and desist" order, but the FTC can't keep up with all the false advertising.

Anyone who reads The Corvette Restorer should know enough about engine oil to make sensible and economical engine oil choices for any vehicle or IC engine equipment they own.
