    1963 Chassis Stencil

I am looking for someone with a 1963 Corvette built in Late March.
    My Data plate saids G4.
    My Car's VIN is #111 013.
Need a example of the frame stencil.
With Stencil Upside down is GM Part number on top or bottom?
Also any other info that will be helpful.
    Thanks, Jim

    Hey Jim !

This might help clear up our conversation from last night. This is from the fourth edition JG. I don't have the 5th edition with me today.

      Tom,
If that is correct then the stencil with GM #3819263 closest to ground with AOS #303196-1 above that would be the best choice of the (2) stencils I received.
Sounds like the right side is the preferred place to apply stencil.
      Thanks, Jim

Still looking for 1963 Corvette's built in Late March.
Quanta told me not many 63's with VIN 's around mine have been documented.

            Hi James,

While I unfortunately can't give you the specifics (trim tag build date, frame stencil) of the cars built closest to your '63 Coupe #11,013 I can however tell you that 1963 cars #11,007, 08, 16 and 22 are recorded.
            They are out there.

              Syd,
I thought they might be out there!
Hoping to verify my chassic info with others.
My Data plate said G4 build date, but my stencils came with a estimated build date of 19Mar63. That looks like the 3th week in March.
Not sure what is going on.

                Jim,
From looking at the calendar for 1963, your assembly date and the assembly date stamped on my '63's trim tag, it appears that the first week of a month was counted as the first week in which the first days of that month fell. For example my '63 has an assembly date of F5. If you look at the 1963 calender for February your first reaction might be that the code is wrong, February does not contain 5 weeks. But if you count the week in which the days Feb 1 and 2 fell as the first week, it makes sense. Using this rationale the fourth week of March, '63 does contain the date March 19.

                  Eric,
                  Thanks for the reply.
Would there then be some 1963's with a G5 Date Code?

                    Jim,
Using the rationale I described, the 5th week of March on the 1963 calendar contains the workdays 25th (Mon) thru the 29th (Fri), so the answer to your question would be yes.

However I would like to emphasize that the rationale I described in my first post is one I developed to explain the F5 on my '63s trim tag. The date stamp on my trim tag could well be a mistake, but if one assumes it is not a mistake, the rationale I developed is the only explanation that makes sense. I have not done any research or surveys to determine if my rationale is correct or not - too many irons in the fire.

                      Eric,
Maybe there is someone out there with a 1963 Corvette built in the 5th week of March. That would prove your theory is correct!

                        Eric,
Found a March 4th car which has a G2 body date code.
Still looking for someone with a G5 body date code.
Must be one G5 1963 still out there somewere?
