My 74' (L48) is still on blocks from it's last use in Nov. 09'. Today I was in the garage and noticed a steady drip of fuel onto the floor coming from bottom of the charcoal cannister. Since it was quite hot today in Connecticut and I knew the fuel tank was full, I concluded that it might be getting pressure from the fuel tank through the cannister vent line. I took off the gas cap and in doing so I think I noticed some pressure escaping from the tank. The dripping stopped shortly thereafter. It is a good thing there was no ignition source in the garage today or I would have lost the car and garage.
I have never had this happen in the summer months when the same or worse temperature conditions occur.
Has anyone had this experience? Does this suggest something has gone wrong with my vapor recovery system?
