C1 Dulling Door Jams

Hello to all,
On a '56 I know the door ends were not buffed and thus have a slightly duller appearence, but were the areas by the door latch on the body and by the seat bottom near the sill plates buffed or they duller like the door ends?

Steve, the answer is yes. The entire door jamb area (those areas you asked about) should be less glossy than the outer body. Be careful though, I have seen a trend towards making this whole area way too flat which is just as incorrect as too glossy. These areas got paint but no buff-out, so imagine what lacquer would look like prior to buffing. That is what you are working towards.

So I suppose the body lips or gutters under the hood and trunk lid were also duller?

The buffer pad was approximately 14". If you keep that in mind you will have a good idea of what was buffed.
