Joe, are you latches the early or late style? My 59 was built dec 58 and has the early style latches, which I believe were silver cad vs. yellow cad on the later style. You must have got an early shipment

Ian, I am not following you about early vs late style, but I assume since my car was built in Dec. 1959, it would be the later style.

Hey Joe if you check the 58-60 JG pg. 72 you can see the early and later style. You can also see the early latch in Noland adams book pgs. 140 & 233. Our build dates are consistent with the JG saying the early/late cutoff was june/july '59. I believe I have read elsewhere that the second style were yellow cad as you noted.

I understand. my female latches are the 2nd design as were all 1960 cars. The male latches mounted to the hood are what I referenced as yellow cad on the underside when I removed them. My female latches appear to be cad plated on both sides.
