    Previous NCRS Board Members

Without doing much research on the subject, I was wondering if someone could post a list of all of the previous board members from the conception of the NCRS (perhaps a sticky)? I'm sure most of us "new guys" have no idea who were the leaders or headed up the board in the past. This idea came to me a few months ago while attending the seminar in Kissimmee where a previous NCRS President was introduced, I apologize even his name escapes me at the moment.

    Regards,

    Kevin

Kevin, I cannot even begin to list the past BOD members, but the past President you referred to is Bill Clupper. Clup is a regular at the FL meet

I would have to say it's a good question for you "old guys" too!

Nope, It wasn't Mr. Clupper, I do know or should I say recognize Bill.

Maybe you could start the list with who you do know?

          Kevin,

The only past presidents that were in Kissimmee this year were Gary Mortimer, Bill Clupper, Mike McCagh and myself. There were a few founding fathers in attendance also, perhaps you're thinking of one of them.

I'll shoot an email to my chairman perhaps he can remember? The gentleman I referring to spoke at Roy's/Carlton's seminar. I might be mistaken as to his title?
            Thanks, Vinnie

The gentleman you are referring to was former national judging chairman and many year Lake Erie Chapter leader AR (Eddie) Hammer-Huber. A regular attendee at the Fla meet for many years.

                That's the man!
My point exactly, without previous involvement with the club who would ever know these folks?

                Thank you Bill!

Your point is a good one Kevin, but the list would be long -- I guess that is a good thing in that many of the former leaders of this organization are still alive -- but listing them will not help us recognize them. A "rouges gallery" might work, but many of us have changed appearance (yea, I know that is leaving myself wide open) over the years.

The other day I looked at an employee ID badge from my former place of employment dated 1975, picture of a slender good looking guy with a full head of hair. I didn't recognize him at all until I saw my name!

Sorry, but I had to look up the term "rouges gallery".

A rogues gallery (or rogues' gallery) is a police collection of pictures or photographs of criminals and suspects kept for identification purposes. The term is also used figuratively by extension for any group of shady characters or the line-up of 'mugshot' photographs that might be displayed in the halls of a dormitory or workplace.

Might be a pretty good description?
                      Kevin

PS:Recognition by name alone would suffice.

Kevin and new members since 1999...one great source of information as to how NCRS started and what it evolved to over the first 25 years is the 25th Anniversary issue of The Restorer. Has an embossed cover with the 25th Anniversary logo and is loaded with information on the history of NCRS from the beginning thru 1999...and it's full of photos from the "rouges gallery"

It's still available thru the Cincinnati office for a nominal charge.

                          Kevin,
Your post made me think that somewhat of a history book, or "yearbook" of the organization would be a perfect historical record of the NCRS.
As a retired career firefighter, the 700 member fire department I worked for would put out a yearbook roughly every 17 to 20 years.

I attached a few pics of the last one I purchased in 1998.
That's me second from right on the top row. It's a historical record of the organization with photos of all past leadership. Also a current accounting of members (names and pics) and color photographs of significant activities. Kind of like high school, for old folks....

On the positive side, this would be a perfect format to record the history of the NCRS (past national conventions, founders, etc.).

On the negative side, a yearbook is a massive, labor-intensive undertaking.
I paid $29 for this one in 1998.
The department I worked for is putting out a 2010 edition for $59 a copy (based on an order of around 900 copies).

                          Ridge

                            Re: Previous NCRS Board Members

I worked hard at keeping my driver's liscense photo from years back -- when my hair (ALL of it) was darker. I used to call it my Osoma picture. It lead to a lot of fun when I had to produce a photo ID, although the TSA folks are decidedly lacking in humor, so I avoided that "joke" at airports.

Just last year the state of Illinois got me for a new picture because they changed license format -- Federal Homeland Security requirements – and I had to take an eye test, but that is another long story. So now my photo looks more like me currently, and less like OBL. If I were politically inclined I could blame BHO, but I would bet the change came about in the previous administration -- they just caught me now. I still have a work ID that is mostly like I used to be a decade ago.
