GM part # for early '63 anti-rattle pad for tire lock

Is there someone with the AIM for '63 who could check to see if the GM part number is listed for the small anti-rattle pad that was glued to the back side of the spare tire lock for early 1963 cars?

    Thanks,

I spent 5 minutes looking, can't find it. I didn't know it existed. What section do you think it's in?

Said insulator is listed in the revision column as "removed" likely 1-15-63, thus ther is no part number listed on sheet 4, section 10 of my aim.

Thanks Bill. I was just about to say the the tire lock is on UPC 10, A4 in the '66 AIM.

I don't believe the early 1963's were issued a rubbber spare tire lock cover. I once owned an early 1963, # 1450, made in Oct. 1962 and it did not have a cover. I was not the original owner but I remember finding that the early 1963's were not issued this cover.

            David,

You are correct that the early '63s did not use a rubber boot, but were supposed to have a anti-rattle pad that was glued onto the back.

I believe the part number was GM #3794106. It was discontinued from SERVICE and replaced by the rubber cover, GM #3841701, in January, 1964.

Joe, Jan 64 is a tad late for the rubber cover isn't it? The rubber cover (boot) was used much earlier than that. Check again. Boot was added in the Aims on 1-15-63. Key word is in the Aims. Not on the car to much later as you well know.
My March 2nd 63 has the anti-rattle pad. I assume that the term insulation is that pad?
Looking at Sect 10. Sheet 4.00 spare wheel lock.
                8-29-63. 1. Was 37954101 lock cyl asm.
1-15-63. 2. Item 4 added. Item 4 is the Rubber boot.
Then in next column it has the part number Gary was looking for that Joe Lucia gave.
Insulations (anti rattle) is #3. 3794106.

Then #4. cement removed. Part number given for cement.

Can someone post a pix of this pad?? Is it available or can one be made up?
                  Thanks

OK, you guys made me get off my lazy butt and take some photos of mine. Can't recall, but believe my good buddy Jim Lennartz made this one up for me. Believe they are also available from Long Island Corvette. Hope this helps to visualize it.

January, 1964 is when the pad was replaced by the boot for SERVICE. It's not when the PRODUCTION change took place nor when the boot was released for PRODUCTION or SERVICE. I have no doubt that both of those events took place WELL before January, 1964.

                        Jim,

The photo attached shows what a repro LIC pad looks like. As you can see, it's clearly wider than the lock. Anyone out there have a known original example to compare to the LIC item?
