I was curious as to what the prices on C-2'S are like? Are they still holding thier own? Tom

Anyone watching B-J on tv?
At least they had Corvettes on TV this time. Thanks for my DVR I can watch 8 hours of coverage in less than 2 hours. In January I noticed all the Corvette auctions were during the commercials. They did a better job this time.

Dick, unfortunetly there are still lots of people paying crazy money for bogus cars. The pair of red 435s comes to mind.- Top

The best money a newbie can spend is to hire someone, that has the credentials and knowledge, to inspect a car before they spend big money.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Anyone watching B-J on tv?
Right, Dickie. Continues to amaze me, with the big bucks, some people refuse to seek prudent advice in advance of purchase.
But then, expect to have the car authenticated after the fact.
Too late, Oh well!

Mike, it has to be awfully difficult to break the bad news to an unknowing owner that what he has is not what it seems. I would have a very hard time with that one.- Top

Not very many cars with NCRS credentials at this one, and one was a TF in one year at a regional and 2F at a regional a year later??Bill Clupper #618- Top

The description in the BJ catalog states that it is a non-original trim tag. Tag was probably not caught at first judging, but caught the second.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Anyone watching B-J on tv?
True, Steve. That is the unfun part of the job that I and others have had convey to the owner all to often on the judging field.
Too many stories, however, one older gentleman at a Chapter Meet was so devastated, that I had to grab him as his knees buckled from the shock and helped him to sit on a curb.
A couple such occurances being the result of direct purchases from unscrupulous sales, which, fortunately the unsuspecting buyers were able to have their purchase money returned to them. A rarity.
Again, totally avoidable for perhaps a few bucks in advance to be sure the car is the R. D..

Re: Anyone watching B-J on tv?
Jerry MacNeish goes through the same agonies authenticating 1st-generation Camaros (Z/28's, SS's, and COPO's); fake trim tags/swaps and VIN swaps/rebodies are rampant in the Camaro world (about 30% of all of those cars listed for sale are fake). The smart ones hire him before buying, but they're the minority; most hire him after buying, and don't receive the news well that they've made a BIG $$$ mistake.- Top
