Has this Caliper been previously sleeved?

Last week a posed a question to the forum regarding the originality of the front calipers on my 67. Three of the four caliper halves are 5452270. My intent is to now rebuild these calipers. The paperwork that came with the car stated that one of the previous owners converted the car to stainless brakes. I have attached a photo of one of the caliper halves. Does this photo indicate that this coupler has been sleeved? When a magnet is placed next to the piston there is no attraction so perhaps these calipers where indeed converted to stainless.

If members of the forum agree that the caliper shown has been sleeved and may likely be stainless, is this something that a average mechanic can do or am I better off sending out for a rebuild?

    Thanks--Mark

You will have to take out the seal and piston to tell. If they are stainless just buy a kit and install.

Yes, you will have to do as Dana mentions for us to tell if it was stainless steel sleeved. Also, if you can, please do this for the caliper half with the 546xxxx casting number.
