    Today was the day!

It was 81 degrees here in the Detroit area and today was the day to take the '69 out of hibernation. As soon as gas got to the carburetor it fired right up and ran smooth as silk. After a few miles the blue smoke ceased and it felt great to be out on Woodward again!!!

          Jeff,
Did the same today. Took my 67 out of storage. After a few cranks fired right up. Nothing like the sound of side pipes.
Went for a short shake down ride in the 75* plus temps here in Connecticut.
          Nothing but smiles all around.

Nope, both are long gone (Gratiot Auto Supply sponsored my AA/FD back in '61-'62).

Thanks John! 'remember the red '57 Standard sponsored and ran at the Nationals? Sam Gianino drove IIRC. Made a trip to Standard and Gratiot a week after a friend picked up his new '68 Z-28(4.10 and radio) for a Sun tach, SW gauges and panel, Allison electronic ignition, and headers. car now has 3,000+ miles.

              Have pics. of your AA/FD?

Got my '69 out of storage today. Had a little trouble putting the battery back in (kind of tight squeeze), but it fired right up. Drove it for 30 minutes to shake it down and everything was fine. First time driving it since Thanksgiving. Kind of like having a new car. Back to a 2 Vette family now!

                  Hi Richard,
I bet I know which of your 2 Corvettes turns the most heads as you go by!!!!! Ah, Spring!

Used to race with Sam on Woodward back in those days when I had my blown Buick nailhead-powered A/MSP '53; I think he's still building engines in Royal Oak. I think the two photos below are all I have left after about fifteen moves, without tearing into more old boxes.

Well the 69 of course, but there seem to be fewer and fewer nice C4s every year. What's funny is that my 95 is now Top Flight, but haven't shaken down the 69 yet (only bought it last summer and had her in storage over the winter). Hope to put her in a chapter meet this summer just to see how she does. Not original paint color and has vintage air, but we shall see...
