    Re: Seat Covers

Thank you Paul. The pics show me pretty much what I wanted to see. The seat back bumpers do not line up with the seat back stop bolt on the bottom frame on my drivers seat. Took the seat out and saw where it was bent at the back and also on one side. Short of taking out the passenger side to compare frame to frame (which I will probably do anyway), I wanted to get an idea of what it should look like.

I see what you did with the reinforcement, but I would have to think the frame needs to get back into it's original shape before welding on a reinforcement.

      Dennis,

I lined things up with bolts so there would not be any mistakes with the welds. And of course removed them afterward.

        Hi Paul,
I really do like how you have redone your '74, but there is a point that you mentioned that may not necessarilly ( I hope I spelled that one correctly) be correct.
On '74 Coupes the lap and shoulder belts did have a new, combined set up, but for convertibles the Lap Belt was standard and the Shoulder Belt was still an option (A85) at least according to the books I have seen.
I also do agree that for the added safety, putting shoulder belts is a great idea.
My uncle does own a '74 Convert with the A85 option, and he has the two separate belt set up withe the shoulder belt clipping to the lap belt buckle.

          Paul,
Can you PM me the two pictures you have of the seat frames with the braces welded in and the picture after they have been painted?

          Thanks

          Todd
