can anyone send me a picture of correct bolt head on the ccv tube, the bolt located at top of tube. JM says parkerized (not sure what that means). Thanks

Re: 283 crank case vent tube
I question whether Parkerizing was used on the bolt for a simple non-critical, non-structural application. It looks a lot like phophate, which is an inexpensive process that provides modest corrosion resistance.

Chris, most common is the round no logo same as the photo previously posted. B, BC logos have also been seen. L logos use was common in 56-7 and probably were used as well. Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter

Re: 283 crank case vent tube
I'd sure like to see the GM drawing for that bolt (#100118) to see what finish was specified; having spent a good hunk of my career at Chevrolet Engineering and being familiar with the constant cost pressures on release engineers, I can't imagine them spending any money for a premium finish on a Grade 2 bolt that spends its entire life in a hot oil mist.- Top
