One of the fingers which bears against the tailpipe on the bumper mounted insulator is missing, causing a rattle in that part of my exhaust. The repo insulator is constructed slightly differently from what is on the car('60) which is probably original. The repo assembly is held together by three solid rivets with a backup washer, all of which is very visible next to the tailpipe outlet. The part that is on the car was assembled with what I believe to have been some sort of drive rivet as I can see what appears to be the end of the rivet stem in the center of 4 pie shaped sections that have been pushed outward by the stem with no washer used. Neither the judging guide or any of my references make any mention of this detail, although I'm hesistant to replace the existing parts as the difference is readily visible if someone is looking for it. Does anyone have any experience with losing judging points over this?
