John & Pam - I'd expect the following flashers:

1968 Turn Signal Flashers - A Signal-Stat 145 non-DOT w/ either a yellow/gold anodized metal embossed 145 on the top (early car) or metal cover w/ yellow 145 silk screened on the top (later car) OR a Tung-Sol 323 non-DOT w/yellow plastic cover embossed on the top.

1968 Hazard Flashers - A Signal-Stat 175 non-DOT w/ either a green anodized metal embossed 175 on the top (early car) or metal cover w/ green 175 silk screened on the top (later car) OR a Tung-Sol 552 non-DOT w/natural metal cover embossed on the top OR an IDEAL 552 w/ metal cover & silk screen around the cover.

1969 Turn Signal Flashers - A Signal-Stat 145 non-DOT with metal cover w/ blue 144 silk screened on the top OR a Tung-Sol 224 non-DOT w/ blue plastic cover embossed on the top.

1969 Hazard Flashers - A Signal-Stat 175 non-DOT w/ metal cover w/ green 175 silk screened on the top OR a Tung-Sol 552 non-DOT w/natural metal cover embossed on the top OR an IDEAL 552 w/ metal cover & silk screen around the cover.

    Hope this helps. Pete

The position of the turn signal flasher changed locations in production during the '68 year. Mine is located under the radio (Built December '67) and you have to pull the driver side console inspection plate near the gas throttle to find it. Other '68's are found under the passenger side dash and possibly in the jack compartment, I believe. The point of all this is the turn signal flasher may not be easily accesible and therefore, not judged.

While the visual confirmation of a flasher might not be possible because it's where the sun doesn't shine, I would suggest that the flasher or at least having a flasher is in fact judged during the Ops Check. In addition, for those of us who drive our Corvettes having the appropriate fixed load flasher, i.e., a 2 lamp flasher in a 66 or 69, or a 3 lamp flasher in a 67 or 68, in the turn signal system is an important safety item so you'll know if the brake/flasher element of a bulb has failed. What you are finding in the jack compartment is the flasher for the UA9 alarm system, if the car is so equipped. No alarm, no relay nor flasher in the jack storage compartment.

                  My NOS embossed yellow/gold anodized metal 145 flashers are dated "T 444" (44th week of 1964), "T 475" (47th week of 1965), and "T 495" (49th week of 1965). All were made in Toronto ("T").
