Really struggling what color to paint my 58....what are your fav 58 colors?

The original color is regal tourquiose with charcoal interior and white top. Most of the time I like this color but some restored 58's in this color look too green and thats just because the color is off though.

at corvette expo the other day in TN I went ahead and bought a charcoal steering wheel thought well I guess it's settled going RT and charcoal..

still can't make my mind up! red is nice but the 58 red to me isn't a pretty red it's very pink looking.

black is nice and the yellow is very rare which only 510 was done in RT.

Would I be making a mistake going back RT with charcoal? as far as resale value that is.

If it was my car I would go ahead with Regal turquoise. When properly done, it a real eye catcher and there are not may around

Regal turquoise is a very good color, especially if it was original to the car!

Brandon,

I own a Turquoise 1958 that looks like the second photo. The paint colour is what really makes the car look great. If that is the proper colour for your car it would be a shame to not keep it correct.

I have painted many Corvettes (and other cars) And when I was contracted to do the job many times I along with the cusomers thought the color was a lame one but without fail everytime I finished the job I end up loving the color, along with the customers. My point being any corvette that has the body prepped correctly along with the paint mixed correctly to match and painted and polished with care will knock your socks off.

Usually the Pale looking metallics were my least favoite when I would start. 2 of those colors are some of my favorites 1 is 69 Riverside Gold and the other is Ontario Orange.
25 years ago I did a 59 and painted it turquoise and it came out stunning. I think that the unique body on the 58 would look great in turquoise. Just think of the metallics reflecting in the sun off of the hood ridges as well as the nice chrome deck lid bars ontop of a nice blue paint job. I am doing a 61 right now with a very similar color combo to yours and I cant wait till I am polishing the paint!!!

Thanks for the thoughts, I agree when the shade is dead on original it's a pretty color I just see so many thats restored and not the right shade like the top photo.

I also keep hearing "paint it red" it's a corvette.

at this point I'm 90% sure I'm going back to RT and charcoal. Even thinking of painting it myself never painted before but I'm 26 so be nice to give it a shot and gain that knowledge and develope it over the years enough to really do nice work on my own projects.

Brandon; For me there's only 2 colors BLACK & Chrome.... If it had to to be another color it would be Panama Yellow.

Brandon, my vote would be for RT, especially if original color. I've attached a pic of my RT '58. Turns a lot of heads. Good luck!

Brandon, the Blue w/white coves is the only way to go, in my opinion its the best color comb. you can get for your year, I am a blue kinda guy. the pic. below realy catchs my eye.

When I bought my 58 it was red/red with white coves - just got done owning a S/W red/black, did not want another red car. Since the red interior was brand new I took the cheap way out and did the car in charcoal with silver coves. Since you already have a white top and bought a charcoal wheel I would go with Panama Yellow - in a 58 I don't think anything beats Panama Yellow with a matching white top & coves. All the shows I took my charcoal to, if a yellow came in I would kick myself in the butt. IMHO

Keep it original.

Wasn't it at St Charles where there were three or four RT 58's staged close together on the judging field and there were probably that many shades of the color between them? Is RT a color that is difficult to get correct?
