Looks like I'll go with copper on the intake manifold.

The Ultra Copper has a higher temperature resistance than Ultra Black. It's probably a higher temperature resistance than will be needed for most applications, but it just represents an "extra margin of safety".

Joe, I didn't know the copper had a higher heat range then the ultra black..nice to know.

hey look at it this way too the copper would match the chevy orange better!

Thanks Joe. I have both in the basement. Ultra Copper says 371*C (700*F) and Ultra Black says 260*C (500*F) so yes there is a difference. So you are absolutely correct (as usual).

I have refurbished a 1974 #340261 intake and will be putting that on in mid-April. My NOM is black and I was leaning to Ultra Black but will go with the Ultra Copper for the intake ends but perhaps using Ultra Black for the bolts. Copper against Chevy Orange is OK but looks like heck on black.

The paint is POR-15 engine coating (500*F).

Paul B. was very kind and sent me some pics of an original 1974 TCS setup (another thread) so that matter is sorted out as well. Thanks Paul!
