    1957 FI Air Cleaner 1 of 2?

In the picture below is the unrestored engine showing the special aircleaner on the 1957 ENGINEERING PREPARED NASSAU RACECAR that introduced the new Rochester Fuel Injection at the Governors Trophy Race in Nassau, Bahamas Dec 7th, 1956.

The only other known FI air cleaner of this type is seen on the 1956 Bill Mitchell SR2 when it was converted from a carburated car to a Fuel Injected car for the March 23rd 1957 Sebring race. I don't know the reason for the green paint. The one on the SR2 was all chrome.

Also notice the oversized SR1 Generator pulley.

Joe, was the coil originally mounted on the driver side?

    Thanks!
