62 Hardtop Header Chrome Removal
I want to try and replace the old original weatherstripping. Any hints/proceedures on removing the header chrome and then getting to the rivets, etc? Any pics?

No longer need the help for above thread. I figured out myself. Did not need to remove the header chrome.Layed top on a couple blankets & went to work. 1)Peeled back old w/s and most fell apart in my hand.
2)Found little screws & clips & each one popped out with just a little prying w/flat screwdriver.3)Used a razor knife to run down each channel to break the bead & then a screwdriver to clean out the channel. Cleaning the angled channel was the most work since someone used glue on the prior w/s. 4)Let new w/s sit in the sun for awhile to get flexible. Used a marker pen to place a line from each hole out to the inner side as a guidemark for the w/s. Started at one end of the header channel & using a little soapy water for a lubricant I wedged the new w/s with the help of two putty knives into the channel all the way across. 5)Punched a hole with an ice pick & installed each clip (wedging w/putty knife) & then tapping in the rivet screw. 6)Trimmed off both ends & done.
