Bill, I would just empty out the float bowl seal in a air tight bag. and repair the carb when you when you need it again. chances are that the gaskets will dry up anyway.and why spend the money now and then again when you pull out of storage. throw in some of those capsules that abosrb the mositure.

      Ed,

I have to use it in July - car will be judged for Duntuv (i hope, not heard back yet).

My plan would be to get it fixed now, use the car on/off until July.
Then, after judging, remove the carb for storage.

Should I store it unassembled and dry or assembled and dry?
I can get it into one of those vacuum bags and suck all the air out at the end.

Good luck in july, I think the vaccum bag should work fine, main thing is to keep out the mositure.

I recently did a 68 carb. that was the original, it had been sitting for a 35 yrs. in the gm box, everything tends to dry -up, it had a gm replacement installed.

            Clem,

Want to get the leaking issue fixed.
I think that since the ethanol issue will never go away (by all accounts get worse), I would rather have a fixed carb for the NCRS meets and a Holley for driving around.

The car won't get to much usage between now and July - but don't like having issues with the original carb.
