hood on one corner pops up..this the correct way to fix it?

Since I got the engine back in and the hood back on the right corner pops up after driving for awhile and hitting bumps etc.

I noticed the pin thats fixed on the firewall is slotted..if I screw this downward would that correct this probably?

I haven't tried it yet because I was afraid it would make the hood go inward on that side too far and crack the paint or something, if I try it I will just do it a little at a time ofcourse.

I guess the right way would be screw it downward right or would letting it out some correct this?

Brandon, try to back the slotted hood stricker out about 1/2 to 3/4 turn, keep in mind that this will ever so slightly raise the hood ,so if the hood is recessed on the side this will bring back to level w/fender.

Harry, sorry for jumping in I know Brandons car.(68 C3)

as Ed said this is a 68.

I wasn't sure if I needed to screw it down or up sounds like you think it needs to be backed off and come up.

I'll give it a shot, can't try it out thought it's a mess outside! pouring rain.

Brandon, just in case, the lower part of striker does have a locking device that will have to be backed of to make the adjustment. a light tap with an old screw driver and hammer should be all you'll need.

ah ok, yeah I know what you're talking about I went out earlier and backed it off 1/2 of a turn but I didn't back off the lower part so I don't know if backing the slotted head off did anything or not I'll take a closer look later.
