    Re: Amelia Island Awards

You are having too much fun Loren. And all these years you said the car was for sale.......Yea, right.

Not with all those pretty gals hanging around you and Tigar in the bar. When are going to write your book on the fun of it all?

I am really proud you went. Great for the hobby, and great for you too.

Will I see you at the RIVERSIDE RACEWAY LEGENDS REUNION this weekend?

The second trip was perhaps just to see if the car would start again! There was a mailfunction of the micro switch and it got disconnected, so no "enrichment" for startup. I think the second trip was for the Cuban class; I suspect that because the Cuban Ferraris and Birdcages were slated for other awards, the class award fell to the piece of plastique. Actually the invite made me go out and improve panel fit on the lower right trunk lid and on the strip between trunk and softtop lid on the left side.
On one of the trips, I think I heard (hard with straight pipes & in the car) the emcee indicate that the car "was always a race car" or words to that effect. Can those on hand verify this?

      Congratulations!

No, I will not be at Riverside. the car has not yet been returned and I have to be here to sign off on it's return.

I'm interested in the thought process that tells you that my willingness to transport the car to FL = the car is not for sale. In fact, the transport was the almost exact opposite - to remind folks in the hobby that the car exists, and in the near future, may be offered for sale, but only at a reserve price auction.

If you have been informing folks that the car is not for sale, please convey the above message. Thanks/

Joe, Thank You. This was my first trip to Amelia Island and it will not be the last. Bill Warner's take on the extremes of the car hobby include "ALL" that anyone can imagine, and that explains a lot of its appeal.
Manufacturers flock to this meet - a chance to put their new product out in front of the world, with free press coverage thrown in.

Loren your car looks awesome in the picture that was posted. I am jealous and look forward to the day I get to bring the Nassau car to Amelia.

I would like to meet the museum curator from Cuba..maybe we need to make a trip together to see him.

Have you ever talked to Ralph Johnson..the guy that worked on the Ed Cole FI project at Smokey's Garage in early 1957? I think I also located the guy who was shop foreman at SEDCO.
