Trim Tag

Hi could any body tell me what trim tags are made of from 1960 to 1975 are they all the same or some of made of Stainless Steel or Aluminum and what are the rivets made of ?? or where can i find that kind of info.

I am no expert in this area, but I can tell you that Corvette trim tags started in 63. They changed a little over the years. 68 to 75 tags contained the same basic info but were placed in a different spot that 63 to 67 cars. If you examine a couple of cars in person, you will see the difference.

63 to 67 tags were made from rolled coils of aluminum sheeting. I'm not sure what the 68 to 75 tags were made of.

If you are interested in authenticating a trim tag, you should purchase Al Grennig and Roy Sinor's book on the subject. It is available in our online store. Pretty good reading and a valuable tool to have in your library.

Dan, the trim tags are stainless steel,and have a special rivit,Im not sure where if these style rivits are avaliable ,maybe one of the corvette parts venders such as- paragon corvettes.
