    '69 435 pistons

Does anyone have a photo of a stock piston for a 1969 427, 435 car? Or where I may be able to view one on the web? Thanks.

    John------

I do not have any of these pistons [not for sale or otherwise] to photograph for you. These things were discontinued a long time ago. The last size available was the +.030" and it was discontinued in July, 1984. However, these are the part numbers you're looking for:

    GM #3888342------std
    GM #3888343------+0.001"
    GM #3888343------+0.030"
    GM #3888345------+0.060"

If you can find a photo of any of these, you'll have a photo of the dome configuration you're looking for.

By the way, these pistons were used for all 1966-69 427's with SHP, Corvette or otherwise.

Attached are some photos of a SHP piston taken out of my 68 435hp engine.

          John------

Bear in mind that the part numbers I provided are for the finished pistons. The number seen on the underside of this piston is the forging number for the blank from which the finished pistons are machined. You will note, though, the "relationship" of that number to the part numbers.

Also, I believe that forged pistons of this dome configuration, or very close to it, are currently available from Speed-Pro/Sealed Power (Federal-Mogul).
