    '62 Water Pump Mounting Bolts

For a '62, did the bolts that mount the water pump have washers? If so, were they lock washers? Or, regular washers?

As far as I know, no washers, split lock or flat, were ever used, for 1962 or any other year, for any small block or big block waterpump attaching bolts.

Does 'no washers' include the generator front adjustment bracket too? -Dan-

I can't say for a 1962, but for later years if there was a brace that was also attached by the waterpump bolt, then there was a lockwasher between the bolt head and the brace, but none between the brace and the waterpump. I suspect that this was the same for 1962.

Also, for later years, if a hex-flanged stud was used for waterpump attachment and also for generator brace retention, there was no washer between the stud's hex flange and the waterpump, but there was a lockwasher between the brace and the nut installed on the outer end of the stud.
