    74 rear bumper covers

Anyone have any info on which '74 rear bumper covers are best, Ecklers or ACI. Someone mentioned the edges are more accurate on the Ecklers, and someone said the ACI is better quality. I would choose the flex-fiberglass two-piece version offered by either company. Anyone's feedback would be helpful.

    Robert :
Did you do a search ? There have been a number of posts on this topic. I used Tru Flex with good results.

My 74' had ACI front and rear bumper covers installed just prior to my purchase. The rear is the two piece design. Both the front and rear fit fine (follow the body contours) and look good on the car. Please note there is not much flex in these flexible fiberglass covers - nothing at all like the original urethane covers.

        Robert :

The May issue of Corvette Fever magazine has a seven page article on the replacement of the urethane bumper cover. You may want to check it out.

....when I did my '74's rear cover six years ago I looked at all of them. I thought the Eckler's true two piece FlexFit one was the best. It seemed to have the correct contour of the middle seam that had the correct rounded edges, not flat or squarely shaped edges of the seam like other covers have. The worst bumper is the "one piece" that has a phony "saw cut" seam going down the middle. On a darker colored '74 you can barely see it.
