Thanks everyone. Is there a difference between the Customer Order Copy and the Tank Sticker? Or are one in the same?

Jerry -

"Tank Sticker" is another colloquial name for the "Corvette Order Copy" - they're one in the same; that's what the document is that you posted.

194678 is 1968 convertible

Thanks everyone. One response I received stated that the tank sticker was not the same as the COC. I thought it was and thanks for clearing things up.

that ain't no tank sticker - that is the order copy dated in Sept 67, with production expected 10-20-67 - so, NO VIN as yet has been assigned

A copy of the Corvette order was glued to the tank. Hence, "tank sticker".

No.

1 Chevrolet
9 Corvette
4 half the base engine displacement (V8)
67 body style code for a convertible; 37 for coupes.

The next character in the VIN would be the model year, followed by the plant code (S for St. Louis) followed by the consecutive unit number.

i.e.: 194678S416660 The VIN for my '68 convertible.
