1962 Front lower shock brackets & Bearing seal

I need a couple front lower shock bracket mounts. Does anybody have a couple new ones they never used? Also a couple Front Inner bearing grease seals. All for a 62 corvette.

Paragon has the brackets and you should be able to get the seals at your local bearings and transmissions parts house. NAPA type stores should be able to get the seals also.good luck with your 62.mike

For future reference if you already ordered the seals, they are National Seals (Federal-Mogul) #6040. The GM seal, GM #3656536, is long-since discontinued without supercession. You should be able to get the National seals at any auto supply or bearing supply vendor. These seals will be somewhat different in construction from the originals but they will seal WAY better and be WAY more durable. No one will ever see them or know the difference, though.

Also, for future information, the front lower shock brackets (as well as the upper/lower A-frames, spindles, cross member and rebuild parts) are the same for 49-54 pass cars. The spindle supports for 49-52 pass cars are the same as 53-62 Vettes (53-54 pass car spindle supports have the kingpin knuckle in a 1in higher position).

Thanks Tom. I printed out your article with pictures and gave them to my mechanic. (He is a GTO man and old time mechanic). He really appreciated the pictures. Said they refreshed his memory and he learned a few new tricks. The old stuff was getting to the point of problems, but we caught it just in time. Next Labor Day weekend I will try to make a side trip to your place on my way to Streator, IL for my home town cruiser night.
