    Shock Choice for C3?

Thanks for the input to my previous post regarding rebuilding of original parts. I took your advice and the diff and trailing arms are off the car to Bairs.

From the forum I understand that Bilsteins can be painted and stickered to appear close to original.

The car is driven in CA. Twisty mountain roads and good pavement.

1969 350/300 4sp Coupe - no modifications except radials and aftermarket shocks.

    What would you suggest?

    Bilstein HD or Bilstein Sport?

    or another selection?

For driving purposes, I'd consider KYB Gas Shocks. I've put them on numerous cars and have always been pleased.

The Bilstein Sports are MUCH stiffer than the HD - race-track stuff; you'd probably remove them an hour after installing them. I've seen positive feedback on the HD's.

Monroe has a USA made shock for a C-3. Worked well on my 68.

John, I have the blistein HD on my 72 coupe and it does give I believe the best ride for the money. smooths out that typical C3 wash board ride.

The car is back on the road now and I'm very happy with the Bilstein Sports. They are not at all too rough for my tastes. I live in California and the roads here are pretty good and don't have to survive a winter freeze or snow removal-so not many potholes.

The suspension was thoroughly restored as part of the project including bushings, ball joints, idlers, tie rods, etc. The car has the stock suspension.
