I am interested in a 67 350 hp coupe out of state and it appears to be in the pictures a original car which is as owner states. I am though a bit concerned about the appearance of the engine suffix with the P being that far out of line and maybe the faint appearance when zoomed in of another letter underneath but is kind of hard to tell? Looking for opinions and thanks for the help!

I always hate to comment on stamps by photos, but this one is just goofy enough I'd say it's real.
My opinion is worth only what you paid for it.Tom Hendricks

Darren
I have a 67 350 coupe. My identification numbers are all in alignmment.
The P is not out of sink as the one in the photo. If your not sure, hire someone that is.
I would look for anything else that may seem amiss, if you find anything else go the otherway.
There are original cars out there, just be cautious and patient and enjoy the journey.

I would check for other signs that indicate/confirm a factory 350 HP engine with power steering or AC/power steering versus a 300 HP engine.
Examples would be correct aluminum intake, 326 water pump, crank harmonic damper, pulley sizes, distributor tags, etc.
Also inquire about paperwork or tank sticker.

Re: legit stamp pad? restamp? Trim tag
I went on a two day trip to check a 65. I don't regret the trip because what I found was a wrong engine in the car and a very poor re-stamp on the pad. I would suggest anyone look at the car before buying...........Tom- Top

Re: legit stamp pad? restamp? Trim tag
Darren, my two cents would be to do the obvious - if you haven't done so already. Check the casting date of the block, and also verify that it's a 657 block as well. What is the body build date on the trim tag - it's too difficult to see from the picture. An HT motor and an HP are at least similar animals - meaning if someone turned a non ac, ps car into an ac and ps car then that would explain the offset P. How does the pad surface look otherwise? Any paperwork? How about all the AC unique clips on the firewall? Also, the rivets on the dash in the door jambs? If someone "added" AC to the car, they'd have to replace (I would think) the dash pads with ones that had an AC vent cutout. Are the dates on the AC compressor, pulley etc all correct? Just my two cents, but those are some items I would look at. Be cautious, but have fun. Regards. ARA- Top
