I am rebuilding a 69-75 tilt tele column. My question deals with the emergency flasher switch. The column I am rebuilding does not have a threaded provision in the turn signal switch for the emergency flasher knob. I also have a NOS (in the box) tilt/tele turn signal switch #1997950 and it is identical to the one in the column I am rebuilding and it also does not have this threaded provision. I have another similar column (although not disassembled) and it has a flasher knob and it will unscrew and you can look into the hole and see that the switch does have this threaded provision. The switch in the column I am rebuilding and the NOS switch have an oval shaped hole in the bottom of a protrusion from the side of turn signal switch. You can manually operate this protrusion and it will make the switch function as an emergency flasher but I do not understand how the threaded flasher knobs could be attached to make this switch function. I know this explanation is a little confusing, but this is about the best I can describe it. Maybe someone has run into this situation before and can provide me some guidance. Thanks.
