    62 Front Suspension Painting

Noland Adams Technical Guide states that the entire front end was assembled, painted and bolted onto the frame as a unit. As best I can tell from the photos in his book, all components were indeed painted black. The 61 62 NCRS Tech Information Manual indicates that the spindle, spindle support, bushings, spindle steering arms, lower and upper inner shafts, tie rods and tie rod ends were not painted. I recently examined a 62 Duntov that had all front end components painted black, and there were no comments on the score sheets. Opinions please. Thanks

Current thinking by the chassis judges I know is to let it go either way because of the conflicting information you have cited. For sure, though, aluminum shims, crossmember to frame bolts and grease fittings should be unpainted.
