    Gas Tank to Trunk Partition

Should there be a grommet in the hole the tail light wire harness and antenna cable pass through on the way to the trunk?

Looking at the AIM, I see the cables and the hole in question in section 12, sheet 1.00; section 12, sheet 3.00; and section 102, sheet 1.00. None of the drawings indicate a grommet.

I found a similar question in the archives with no clear answer.

While there is no exposure to the weather, the wire could be subject to abrasion.

    Thanks for the help.

As I recall on my 57's, there was a grommet where the main harness entered the sill at the front and another where the harness exited the sill area at the rear, but there was none where the harness passed through the bulkhead in the top compartment into the trunk.

Dennis, misread your question. As John points out there's a gromlet at the sill and where it comes from the body in the gas tank/folding top compartment, but not at the bulkhead going into the trunk. Gary....

Thanks guy's. That makes sense with what I found on my car and the '61 AIM. I appreciate the information.

            Regards,

            Dennis
