    C2 Door weather stripping

I am about to install weather stripping on my 63 coupe and I am unsure of the orientation of how to position it correctly. Does the rounded side close against the body (side A in the attached picture) or does the flat side B in the picture contact the body. I could not find anything in the archives on this. I think that if I get it wrong it may puff out the doors?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

I just looked at my 63 and the round side (A) is out. But there are fixed connector pieces on each end, so the strip will only go on one way.

Thanks for checking your 63. The weather stripping I have has one molded corner that fits the top side of the door. When you say side A
is out, is this the side that contacts the body or does the flat side contact the body?

I tacked one on to check the fit and it throws my door gaps off with
the round side "A" contacting the body. There seems to be more crush
with side "B" so I think I might have it wrong. I have been looking at as
many pictures as I can find but it is difficult to tell the orentation.

      Thanks for the help

        Tom -

The flat side glues to the door, and the round side (A) is the seal surface that contacts the body opening.

Steve and John, thanks for your help. I have the weather strip mounted
with side "A" to the sealing surface as you have recommended.

What I found was that when the door gaps are adjusted without the weather strip on the car the gaps are all good. When the strip is mounted
the lower section of the doors toward the rear puff out. I reset the strike plate in order to pull the door in enough to reset the correct gap. I don't know if this is normal or if it's an issue with the weather strip itself.

After attending a few Corvette shows in the area, I also found that some cars have it mounted with the flat side to the sealing serface. I tried both ways and it didn't make a difference. Wish I did this before painting
as I now have to touch up a slight paint line.

          Thanks for the help

          Tom

After fighting the door weather stripping for proper fit I finally removed it. Ordered new weather stripping from DR Rebuild. There is a world of difference
between his and the other venders. The Dr Rebuild is smaller, softer and is exactly the same as the original. It went on no problem.

            The doors finally fit right!

Lesson learned, when the catalog says no puff weather strip it's worth the money!
