Body and frame part company

I now have a '62 Corvette in two pieces. I lifted the body high enough today to roll the frame out from under and over to my other bay. The serial number shows as SIC2550. It was stamped twice on the frame under the drivers door. The 2550 is correct but what does "SIC" mean?
Everything went fine with my lift. Worked well for a one man operation. A couple of clicks on each lift point and keep it level, checking it after lifting on all five points.

Perhaps the "c" is A poorly stamped zero, which would make the frame stamping S102550. Jerry

Yes, of course it has to be , but both stamps are done the same way. The serial number is S102550 so that is what it must be.

Could not find a "O" so we just grabbed da "C". After all, we used "I" instead of the "1" all da time...

The first "O" has a very, very light stamping line on the right side completing the "C" to an "O". The last "O" is lightly stamped on the left side of the letter, but not as lightly as the first one. Light stampings on both letters, just on different sides. Assembly line work; do 'em fast and move on to next task/part. Way back when working my way through school for three years I ground tandem truck axle beam ridges and then stamped the part numbers with a gang stamp. Few stamps were perfect and some not legible.
