    1954 Fuel Filter

I've see a bunch for sale and many claims as to what is right. On the domed housing, are the letter AC small or large? Any pics?

    Thanks!

Thanks, Tim. I've seen that on Russ' site. But someone was telling me the small AC logo on top is the right one and I've never heard that before. I'm hoping for some clarification.

I think page 49 in Noland Adams restoration book may have answered my question.

Randy - Just for kicks, I also checked the TIMJG: "Fuel filter is made by AC. The filter has a prominently domed lid, diecast zinc natural finish, containing large "AC" identification in the center.....". I don't have Noland's book here with me. Tim

It's a large AC ,but if you really wont to drive your self crazy find one that's dated inside like I have on my 55 Corvette.

The small AC version is older than the large AC part. I have both NOS and they came in different colored AC boxes. Also have a NOS large AC filter in a Ford box as they were used in 55-57 T-Birds too. Apparently Ford required the zinc cover to be treated with yellow chromate and Chevy did not.
