When I told her I was doing some historical research on '67 Corvette, she starts telling me about the '67 Camaro her and her husband were restoring.

I picked up on this really quick and started asking all sorts of questions about her car and it's history, how far along the restoration was going. She talked my ear off for maybe 15 minutes and I told her I thought her car was really gonna be nice when finished. I really kissed up to her and I know she was in a good mood and I also think that is why I got such a mother lode of of documentation!...
Patrick, I guess my assessment could be interpreted as cruel stereotyping, but no harm was intended. All these folks are someone's mother, father, daughter, son, uncle, aunt, etc, and they have boring, mostly thankless jobs that require personality traits I lack. (The term "going postal" comes to mind.)

All of us know how to "kiss up" when we're trying to extract information, a favor, etc and know that the person we're talking to has one hand on a lever that controls the trapdoor back to the street. I've been known to "oil waters" with the best of them. HaHaHa...

I had a terrible experience with N.J. DMV. I sent in all the proper paperwork and a $10. fee. They told me all paperwork was purged prior to my ownership which was in 1978. I have a friend and his father was doing work to the computer system in Trenton DMV. His father found where the three previous owners lived and gave me the name of the towns. He was afraid to give me any names do to legal issues. I think the people at N.J. DMV are alittle lazy.

When I bought my car at Carlisle, the seller was a NJ Antiques dealer, selling mostly old furniture and household stuff. I'm glad I made a copy of the NJ title for my files before getting a Maryland title. BTW, I'm very sure those 11,780 miles shown as actual are not actual. I don't know what the actual mileage is. PT
