    re exhaust

I see all kinds of exhaust pipes for sale by Corvette part suppliers.
Is their a manufacture plant that makes these in the USA or Canada ?
Would their be a wholesaler ? Price on exhaust seems quite high .
    Thanks

Dick :Gardner seems to have an excellent product and service. It's not in my budget. ( wish it was off road )

Allen's has a nice 63 exhaust system also. They also give great service.

Just gotta recommend the Gardner system. Although my recent install was on a C3, the product fit was just like a glove/hand fit. Top quality material and top shelf service from the folks at Gardners. The research that went into developing an exact replication of OEM is incredible and obvious.

Call Eric. He'll not disappoint. PM me for any other information, photos, etc.

                Re: re exhaust

I have to take exception to the Gardner systems quality.
                Just a few months ago.
I received an inferior product from them for my Camaro - just an obviously very sloppy produced muffler -
Then I was rudely told to take it or leave it -
I sent it back and had to eat the freight both ways - $200.

Here is the whole ordeal on Team Camaro
                From where do I buy?...
                to, does this look right?....
to, why won't Gardner fix the problem?...
to, realizing Gardner just did not care, and returning the system.

Would never use them ever again.

                  Re: re exhaust

Is that right as the photo's shown in Gardner systems web site comparing their system next to originals? The photo shows wrinkles in the Gardner systems that do not show in the originals?

The originals appear to have smoother bends. Is the cost posting in the Camaro site of $900 for carbon steel exhaust system true? That's a big bite.......

                    Re: re exhaust

The originals had perfectly smooth beads- see picture below...
the Gardner muffler beads looked like my 8 year old nephew made them with a crimp tool.

Yes -$900 for the Camaro system that others were selling for $300.
at that price - I really expected a no excuses system - I was wrong.
Actually that was what Gardner kept telling me too - "I was wrong" LOL

Ended up using an original muffler from my collection - and sent their entire system back.
Even when I offered to buy everything EXCEPT the defective muffler - they refused?

                      Jeff,
That sucks that you had to pay 200 dollars for an education on exhaust systems. My experience teaches one has to see for one's self what is being sold. To rely on others opinion of a product as far as correctness is concern is very subjective at best. I find that purchases made under those circumstances leads to disappointment.

I know Allen's Stainless pipes are incorrect in many ways, but I like the quality of the product. I hate RUST. So I don't care about absolute correctness if it's rusty. Given the choice I will take the best looking (and lasting) product. Thank you very much.

I ended up buying Mufflers off road from Corvette Central 2.5 " ( 205 $$ )They only ship ups . Very expensive to Canada. Bought my pipes fom Brian at Yogi Bair's . Very good service.

I've had Allen's stainless on 3 of my C3s. Stuff has been on those cars over 19yrs and yeah it's slightly tarnished, but it's rust free. I'll never have to put another exhaust system on those cars ever!!! Comes apart clean when you need it to also!!!
