67 frame stencil: an Aussies interpretation

Hi Folks, thought I'd share a photo of my efforts with my frame stencil. Spent many hours scouring the tech discussion archives to "get it right" and also had great advice from an awesome RMC mate - thanks JH!
Was very disapointed to receive the stencil from LICS to find no date or 'GC' (yep, I know this stands for Granite City where the frames are made).....so made my own with a scalpel. Not a bad result, and main thing for me is it will pass Flight since the JG wording is somewhat 'light-on'. Anyhow, might not have gotten it perfect, but I'm guessing the truck driver who slopped the paint on probably didn't care much either )
As this is my first ever post, hop the photo comes out, if not, this is how it reads:
    3900200 6-67
    303196-34 GC
my VIN is xxxx21788, 27 June assy
yep, I rollered it on and found ceiling paint the best - no "upwards runs" if you know what I mean )
    Best Regards,
    Gary.
P.S. this discusson board ROCKS - awesome help for an Aussie!!

Looks nice, but I think the date and the 34 GC are on the wrong lines, I have been wrong before, check out page 140 of the JM.

          Keith,

The judging guide also says that there were several variations of the stencil observed. My 67 (22049)less than 300 after Gary's is different from the one in the judging guide as well as Gary's.

From what I can read on mine (which is pretty rusted) the GC is on a different line than the 34. Mine seems to read when I wet the area up:

          3900200-34 6-20-67
          303196-GC

As you can see, the GC is after the 303196 with no 34 between. The GC is actually G. C.

They must have had different artis doing this stuff.

Here's a little better shot of mine (67 VIN 22049):

I think you'll see that the G.C. is on a different line than the 34. The date is very hard to read and I think it may be 6-26-67 instead of 6-20-67.

That would fit better with my 6-29 assembly and 6-26 flint engine. The body is an AO Smith 6-19 body.

Re: 67 frame stencil: an Aussies interpretation

Thanks everyone for welcoming me to the discussion board and for your feedback. Looks like frame stencil topics must be popular with 150 views of my post in less than 24hrs.
Reasons why I oriented the 'GC' and '6-67' the way I did:
1: 6+hrs scouring the discussion board revealed no 100% definate configuration
2: stencil wasn't long enough to do it the other way round (and that's why I didn't add a date day)
3: JG wording is vague enough to allow interpretation either way

                Best Regards,
                Gary.

                  Hi Gary,
I enjoyed reading about and seeing your work.
I speak to several 68-72 owners in Australia on occasion, and someone in Tasmania quite often. I'm always amazed at the number of Corvettes that have made it halfway around the word!
                  Good luck with your project!
                  Regards,
                  Alan
