I have been looking for another Pennant Blue 54 since selling mine and there is one currently listed on Ebay. The vin is #4171 but this doesn't seem to be listed in my Registry book of 53-55's. Does anyone know of this car or its history. Presently it is in Arizona.

Willard, you might check with Steve Newsom (281) 413-0028 to see if he knows this car. Tom Barr the Arizona Chapter Chairman (520) 219-9961 would also be someone to check with. Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter

Re: 54 Pennant Blue #4171
I know nothing about this car...but curiosity got to me and I went and looked at the ad...wow, what an absolutely beautiful color combination...I don't think I've ever seen one like that in person.
On a related topic, the search also came back with a 'C1 dissecant cover' which "goes in the trunk behind the slots in the license cavity and holds the dessicant bag"...can one of the C1 experts enlighten me what this is/does (dehumidifier of sorts)?
BTW, sorry to hijack the thread.- Top

Driveline 127(May-June 1999) lists it for sale for 36,500, part of a multi-car listing and only says Pennant blue always nice car. Michael #24268 AZ. I don't intend to give out any phone numbers, but there's a start for you. Looks like they're hoping to get about 85k for it.- Top

Re: 54 Pennant Blue #4171
I saw the $85K price. That's a long way from the $35K that the bids have now reached. I was hoping that someone had shown the car or had some knowledge of its history to help me decide if it is worth a trip to look at the car. I plan to be near Scottsdale next month and it would be workable to get over to view the car. For that price I would expect a very correct car that has no issues.- Top

Re: 54 Pennant Blue #4171
As always, I love the seller's comment about having had new paint, interior and engine refresh, yet it's an "unrestored original."
Uh huh.
So if the body never leaves the frame, then it forever qualifies as an unrestored car?Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Its really like my hatchet that belonged to George Washington-the handle has been replaced seven times and the blade only two times, but it is still original.- Top
