C3 Carpet - Rear Riser

1969 Convertible, should the carpet on the rear riser have insulation under it? Mine has a piece of yellow foam glued to the riser. Should I glue carpet insulation there instead ? I am concerned the yellow foam will break down into a dusty mess in the future.
Should the carpet on the riser be glued down? The AIM shows little adhesive used on the carpets. My riser carpet looks puffy and does not lay as nice as I think it should. Especially where it wraps over the top of the riser.

If it helps, my 72 does not have insulation on the rear bulkhead (riser) and I believe the 72 was the same as the 69.

I recently installed a new complete carpet kit in my 69 and many of the pieces had insulation attached but not the bulkhead piece so I'm guessing that it was not supposed to have insulation.

Jerome and Jim,

Thanks for your replys. I am taking care of some interior wear and fitment issues. I pulled the kick panels, radio speakers and parking brake console for paint touch up and repair of stripped screw holes and thats when I found the riser carpet was not glued down and did not have insulation behind it. I was not happy with the way it looked, kind of puffy and loose. I'll skip the insulation and glue the top portion where it wraps over the riser. This should hold it in place.

Larry, that's what I did as well. I used that 3M carpet spray adhesive and worked just fine.
