    Sorry,
    That's not what is says in Chevy service manual , or in Holley overhaul manual, or by voice from Holley tech line.They all call for 65-80 IN. lbs. which would be 5-6 FT. lbs. Call one of the better carb restorers -Mc Neish,Eric Jackson, etc.-they all warn against overtightening carb.

      I understand the sensitivity of that attachment relative to cracking baseplates if over-torqued, which is well-known, especially if thicker aftermarket gaskets are used.

      However, Engineering specified 14-18 ft-lbs. in the Assembly Manual, and that's what the cars were built to.

      I've never seen a torque spec for that attachment either in the Chassis Service Manual or in the Chassis Overhaul Manual; only in the Assembly Manual.
