It is time to replace the rear leaf springs on my 1960. After looking at Eaton Springs price to rearch the correct way, Corvette Central's price looks good enough to me. I will save the original springs. Is the set sold by CC as good as anyone else's?
I looked at ST-12 and it appears to give a good description of removing the springs. However, I would think the new springs would need to be "flattened" or loaded some so that the front eye bolt holes and the rear shackle holes lines up. An article on the Restorer CD discusses building a device to make this easier using a 4" by 4" by 31" piece of box steel with chains and a bottle jack. Any suggestions?
