Anyone with a 68 running 255/60 tires on the stock 7" wheels?

I have yet to get to see a picture of how this looks. Thats the size I want but just not sure about that size on my stock 7" wheels. Just afraid they will have that baloon look to them.

I know you kinda roll the dice about that size rubbing or not but looks to me like having the factory 7" wheels would help prevent them rubbing intead of putting them on 8" wheels..I know the 8" will probably look a little better but looks like it would cause them to rub more.

well if anyone have that setup and has some pics I would love to see them!

Oh! gah you're right. I didn't think about that...

even terry B sent me an email before you did along with 2 other members I didn't even think about that I just offered them to the 1st emails I received.

sorry! I completely forgot you were the one I mentioned them to on the forum. If it helps any I got them from "the corvette lady" she's always at carlisle and she has several parts like that NOS you can try her but from what I understood I bought the only 3 sets she had.

Too narrow and it will look strange. You will get better performance from a V-rated 225/70R-15.

I'm running 225/70 R15 redlines on my 68. They look correct and handle very well. Diamondback has a nice selection of tires for your 68.

I got 245 x 60 BFG on the back of my 68 with stock 7" rims. They just clear the shock mount by a finger width.

The fronts are 215 x 60's so they don't hit the wheel lips.

Not offered in 225 in our area.

Car has a nice lean forward and rides nice.

Tire and Rim Association Handbook lists a 7 inch rim as acceptable for the 255/6015

                          thanks for the recommendations.

I've been wanting to hear from a 68 bb owner with 255's all around on stock 7" wheels and see some pics but haven't ran across someone with that setup yet.

be nice to talk to them because mine is a bb and i'm afraid that added weight on the front may cause the 255's to rub where as a sb wouldn't.

but really wanting to go 255's I love the look!
