Curious spare tire '66

My 1st post. Nice to have this type of forum to gain knowledge.
I recently opened up the spare tire carrier on a very original early '66 car. Found a well used spare, non-dot Blackwall tire w/ letters Firestone Super 500. The car is a very early production #762. No specific documentation confirming it came w/ blackwalls, but is a very original documented 65k mile car. Very untouched Black w/ saddle (leather) 300hp car. All untouched components still on car including shocks. The blackwall tire has a 1 1/2 in black checkered line that circles the sidewall.
?? if this tire was offered as original equipment on corvettes or was the Deluxe Champion the only Firestone option the came w/ this year.
Any info. appreciated...

That wasn't an original Corvette Firestone tire configuration.

Thanks John. Did pull up some old adds on the internet from '65/'66 and showed this type of tire on some other makes/models, so was curious about coming on a corvette. Looks to have been in the tire carrier for a pretty long time.
