Hello

I am having problems when going to 4th gear, it is very hard to shift into 4th. It is fine going into the other 3 gears. I pulled off the shifter arms and tried, it is the same from below with using a wrench on the arms, so this eliminates the shifter. Any ideas, I will have to pull the tranny I guess and the side cover to see if anything is wrong inside.

If just sitting in the driveway with the engine running, will it shift to 4th OK?

No it is very hard to go into 4th, will go but really hard. Its not the shifter, as I disconected it and was the same when under the car using a wrench on the arms. Its a 65 M20

There's got be some sort of internal problem, most likely with the input shaft (4th gear) synchro.
