Hi all. When at the San Jose National, the interior team gigged me for my RH kick panel being too far towards the rear of the car. Yup, it stuck out about 3/4 inch into the door opening area. Being a nice sunny day in San Diego yesterday I descided to 'correct' that nasty deduction! Removed the kick panel and got a good look at the fresh air vent, the bottom of it was off center and was angled back about 3/4 inch preventing the kick panel from going all the way forward. Upon further checking, it only had two of the four required screw holes drilled, one at the top and the other on the bottom, which was way off center. The kick panel screw holes were also all towards the rear to compensate for the incorrectly fitted air vent housing. This air vent appears to need to be installed before the heater assembly is in place due to drilling of the four screw holes, which didn't take place. The interior guy compensated and moved the kick panel to 'fix' the angle problem. Moral to the story: know your car and why anything isn't 'quite right' so you can give the Judges some gas when they get frisky!
