I found a 67 penny on top of my frame near the shifter when I seperated the body and frame recently. It looked like it was there forever. Anybody else find pennies during restorations?? I took photos and plan on placing it back when I reassemble the car.

Re: Found a Penny!
Perhaps someone on the line put it there for good luck. Very cool. Putting it back sounds like the right thing to do...Wonder if there are any lurking in my 69 somewhere.- Top

Re: Found a Penny!
Well that sure would be cool if that old penny has been riding along for all of those years.
Let's see one of those pictures !Tom Hendricks

Re: Found a Penny!
Just some photos.
1st and 2nd Photos were taken by John Millar owner of Classic Auto Restoration Services at his restoration shop in South Central Pa about a year ago or so.
3rd photo was taken early this month, a work in progress! (Wheels and tires are just junk rollers to move chassis around)
Lots of fun!- Top

Things are moving right along. Have you been doing anything to your vette and hows your Dads 67 doing. John mentioned he was going to check it out and I think he ask him to come see the finished frame for some input.
Thanks to Jody's support and understanding. You couldn't do this without an exstremly understanding wife $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The hardest part is the paper weights and anchors I've accumulated buying parts from vendors that indicate they are correct or match the original design only to find out they aren't even close. Its the old story-buyer beware!
I now only buy items just in time only if its the last resort (more shipping cost) vs buying in advance, easier to return.
I've been trying to only restore my originals items, nuts, bolts you name it when possible or buy NOS. John has been a real help at getting the right finish and patinna on pcs and parts. It takes a lot longer but at least I know they are correct parts.
I suspect it will be another year or two till its done.
Are you and your dad going to the meet in May?- Top

Re: Found a Penny!
Hi Michael,
I didn't find a penny on my 71 but I did find some initials and dates in 2 places. I guess the workers on the line wanted to leave their mark for posterity. The initials and date in this picture are under the black-out on the underside of the hood.
John M. is quite a terrific fellow and has some personal ethics that I wish more people had these days.
Your frame and running gear in the third picture look terrific!
Regards,
Alan
