I am redoing my center console and i have 2 forward lenses 1. was in the car (original??). 2. I ordered from Paragon. My question is what color should the low beam be Green or Blue?

    Thanks

There was ONE fiber optic lens molded "UNIT" used for the front lights and ONE for the rear lights. The front lens has SIX individual lenses which make up the molded "UNIT". The low beam lenses are GREEN.

      Joe,
Thanks for your reply. The one i received from Paragon has the second one in (or the middle of both sides) blue in color. The one that was in the car is green. So I'm going to re-use that one .

While the lens appears blue it will show as green when the light shines through it. Try it and see before you reassemble the console.

Also let us know how bright the left rear monitor light is. That one lens has a 90-degree angle in it and mine has always been dimmer than the others. I have replaced every componet and it remains the same.

          Mike,

I'll try that. As far as the rear left monitor I have had the same problem. I previously changed the lens and most components. The only thing that made a slight difference was I put some wax at both ends of the cable

            Anthony,

I've never heard about the wax treatment for fiber optics ends. How does that improve the strength of the light beam?

            Thanks,

In fact, the tips of the fiberpotic leads were cleaned as the final part of the original manufacturing process. Anything added between the (clean) ends of the fiberoptic lead should decrease the light transfer.

My tips had dirt (dust) on them so I took some liquid wax and a Q-Tip and cleaned them and I saw a slight difference.

A "Q" tip and isopropyl alcohol works very well to clean the ends
